We are closing in on California. 84F and mostly cloudy. It's tough writing about doing nothing everyday. Sure, there are activities to pass the time while we make our way home and I'll continue to write about them. Just remember that what you all are doing is probably more exciting than anything we're doing here.
How's this? "We went to breakfast. I had 3 prunes and Karen had some oatmeal, or was it muesli." Who cares? So you know, the day's news will be short and pictures few unless some hot news hits this floating rest home. But I digress.
So I spent the morning in the library and Mom went to the pool. I joined her in the afternoon but we had an invitation to the Indonesian Crew Show put on by members of our crew from, where else, Indonesia. We spent the hour from 3 to 4 at their show which was rich in traditional music and dance and complete with colorful costumes. After the show, we returned to our room to prepare for dinner. Tonight, we are dining at the Canaletto Restaurant, one of two restaurants onboard that are not free of charge. Now before you think I've gone crazy, spending money in a restaurant when I could eat for free, you can relax. I have coupons! Along with over $2000 in shipboard credit, I received a dinner for two at the Canaletto and two dinners for two at the swanky Pinnacle Grill.
We enjoyed the Italian cuisine of the Canaletto, enjoying, sea bass, fingerling potatoes, salad, spaghetti and wine. Yes, I bought wine. Speaking of wine, we have two bottles left in our room out of the six we brought onboard so we better get to drinking. Our Pinnacle dinners are scheduled for both Friday and Saturday nights.
After dinner, we went to the Jesse Kazemek's Tribute to the Beatles Show at 8pm. He plays all 214 Beatle songs but not all of them tonight, of course. His wife sings while he plays both the guitar and piano, backed by the Halcat Band. After the show, we return to our stateroom to retire.
We turn our clocks ahead 1 hour ahead tonight, bringing us in line with PST. That's it. We're done with that.
