Would you believe I'm in New York - one of the most exciting, buzzing places - it's 5pm and I'm ready for bed!
Let me back up.
I was up at 6.30am (yikes, right?) and had breaky with my host Karen. She very kindly drove me to the train station to save me catching the bus. Then train into South Station which is where the bus to New York goes from. I arrived at the bus terminal around 8.30am...in plenty of time for my 9am departure.
The 4 1/2 hr bus ride was uneventful and I slept a fair chunck of it.
Then I had instructions from my New York host, Luz, about which bus to get. She named the bus no and gate no... but still it took me ages to find the ticket booth and then the right gate.
She had told me what street to get off at, and the bus reads out the streets as it goes by. I didn't hear my street, but eventually I asked the driver and he said we passed it ages ago...whoops!!
Anyway, being a bit of a weary traveller at this point and not wanting to lug my bags another step, I called good friend Uber and a car came within minutes. I was at my next house in about a 10 minute drive (would have been half hour walk!)
By the time I got to the house it was after 4pm. After the troubles on the bus, I lost a bit of my mojo so I wasn't keen to go back out on the same bus into town for only a few hours. So I decided to have an early night, and make the most of some free time to do some washing. Then I can get a good sleep and spend the whole day tomorrow in New York!
Just realised I didn't even take any photos today! So today's pic is a random.
New York, you won today, but I will do better tomorrow!
