In Ubad the cultural center of Bali. First day here we rented some mountian bikes and went to explore. Went to the ARMA art gallery which was huge very good art and beautiful gardens. There was a free tea included in the price it came with what I thought was a nice biscuit but upon biting it nearly broke my teeth on a cinnamon stick meant as a stirer. Lots of different dances and cultural shows to see a few people were even selling tickets to watch a tradional cremation a little macarbe for our tastes. We did not go to any shows but did go to the monkey forest to see yes more monkeys.

After our day on the bikes we decided to climb mount Batur an active volcano the climb started at 4 AM. The climb was not long but walking uphill in sand is hrd work. For a change at the top we did get good veiws and a picturesque sunrise. We climb down into the creater where in several places you could see steam and feel the heat. Also got to see more monkeys on the mountian. With little sleep and a climb behind us did little else that day. In the evening we went to an all you can eat indian and being on a budget we eat till we could burst. You can buy all sorts of art in Ubad from silver to wood to paintings one prominent theme is the erect penis which is everywhere be it wood silver or any other art. Fly to Australia today where I think our budget will be under server threat.
