The last few days in Santiago we did and saw more things than in the preceding week. On the tuesday we went up Cristobals a big hill in the middle of the city with a statue of the virgin mary on the top. The views were very good and you could tell that nearly six million people call Santiago home a third of the population. To get to the top we travelled by cable car we were greated by serene music and a tranquil atmosphere. Lots of people sitting quietly around making you feel reflective as well. Lots of offering left for the blessing of the virgin some accompanied by strange photos. Including one of a guy in bed and another guy dressed as a clown. Desended by the venicular which is like a tram on rails a steep descent. Were treated to some spanish music waiting for the venicular to start.
When we got to the bottom went to Bella Vista where with friends we went for drinks. Bella Vista is a very nice part of town and was busy with tourists in the main square. We did not drink there but instead on plastic stools up the street much cheaper. We then went home got changed and went out to dinner with Scott who lives just around the corner. Had a very good steak best so far in south america Keeley had another salad. From there we met up with Claire and Patricia for a few drinks and then a couple more. Home late I slept through the alarm and missed school. I was not the only one.
That day after missing the morning we made use of the afternoon by going to Santa Lucia. Before getting in to the park we were hounded by students who wanted us to give them money for there university education. We declined as still have debts from ours. The park was great a small hill with a seeming infinate number of stairs up and down. Lots of statues a big fountain. The place was populated by lots of couples Keeley not happy with all the kissing in public.
On Thursday another day at school for me Keeley spent the day in a sculpture park and in Cristabol. I was a bit jealous. The next day the last at school I did my exam got 70% not enough to go on to the next week but my last day so did not care. Another visit to hospital still wearing my cast and in two weeks when I can get rid of it have to wear a brace. On the plus my wrist is nearly healed but the ligamants are f**ked may need operation when get back to UK. That night spent on bus to Pucon comfy but did not sleep that well due to pot.
