Arrived in Posados after a dissapointing bus ride were told we were getting dinner but did not. Checked into our hotel on the strength of its well equipped kitchen according to the guide. A very poorly equipped kitchen we even had to go into town to buy two glasses and a couple of forks. The sun was shinning and we went to walk down by the river starting to look like shorts and t-shirts again. Everyone on the promenade was wearing jogging bottoms no one however was jogging. That night managed to cook in the kitchen just about.
Next day off to Encarnacion Paraguay by local bus. When it pulled up it looked full to bursting but on we squeezed. The driver had to ask people if the road was clear everytime he had to make a left turn. At the border everyone got of and ran for immigration and off we went with them. Made it through the border but the bus had gone no worries as another one turned up 30 seconds later. People were desperate to get on this bus and shoving, pushing, pulling all fair game the old women seemed to be the experts. Over the bridge and off the bus again a quicker passport check this time and managed to get back on the same bus and had a seat. Got off the bus and headed to our hotel at first not sure what we had paid as the large 100,000 notes were confusing. Straight onto another bus to the jesuit ruin of Trinidad. Arrived with little problem not sure what the conductor was asking us but kept saying Trinidad and duely we were deposited there. The ruins were almost deserted nice to be somewhere so devoid of tourists. The ruins themselves covered a lot of land it was quite errie walking around in the quiet. It was hard to imagine the place full of indian slaves and priests. We enjoyed walking around and tried to fit Keeley in the crypt but she is just too tall the jesuits must of been small folk. After Trinidad we thought we would go and see the reconstruction at Jesus. However this was not to be after waiting an hour for the bus decided if we did not want to be stranded in Paraguain countryside had better head back to the hotel in Encarnacion. That night went out to eat cheap and cheap meant pizza with lots of garlic. Next morning the bus was not as chaotic easy accross and back to Posadas. We picked up our bags and headed off to Iguazu.
