Lunch stop on way from Kathleen springs down to Uluru. After all our attempts to find a place off the road near Kathleen Springs, we eventually found a nice rest stop on the edge of the bitumen. It was around 1.30 ish and we stopped at the Salt Creek Rest Area on Luritja Road. About half way between the earnest giles road turnoff (we'll be taking the earnest giles road on the way back) and the Lasseter Highway. Bacon and egg sangas on the Webber was a well earned and welcome feast!
This rest area also allows 24Hr overnight camping like the earlier Morris Pass Lookout.
There was a water supply at the rest area so we thought we would use some and test out our new sink/washing machine. We filled it up and did the dishes properly for the first time out on the tracks.
Prior to this we had just been rinsing everything and giving it a good wipe down.
We were really starting to get used to how the car was working at this stage and how everything was packed and we were already becoming quite efficient as a team setting up or packing up the vehicle. Whether it be overnight or small lunch breaks.
After our lunch break we pushed on down towards Mt Connor or 'Foolaru' as it is also known!
