Ok so this is a huge city, around 9 million people and the traffic is about the worst I've seen anywhere. This meant that a big part of my city tour was simply stuck in the private tour bus which was sent for me. Amy my guide is lovely and very knowledgable, but I have to be honest and say my normal enthusiasm for getting out and exploring a place was just not there today. I am ready to go home. As we looked around the Cathedral and some other historical sites (of which there are not that many for a city of this size) including the overcast Love Park, my mind just kept wandering back to getting home. My flight is later this evening and I have the full day to enjoy Lima but my heart was just not really in it. I do hope that I get to come back to this city again, but to be honest I did not really see anything that special about it. Don't get me wrong I didn't hate it but was simply impassive to it, however it could just be I am finally traveled out. Happy to be on my way home today.
My month in Bolivia and Peru has come to an end, it's been an amazing, inspiring and rewarding trip. My Spanish has improved considerably, once again I've realized how empowering and rewarding traveling alone can be and how much fun it is to join a group of fellow travelers and share some amazing experiences together.
