Raj: Boy oh boy. What an awesome and fun day we had at Universal Studios today. I wasn't really sure what to expect but enjoyed every moment. From the thrill of the real and virtual theme park rides, to the live shows (such as Kevin Costner's Waterworld), learning about different types of special effects, a tour through many of the Universal Studios sets, and finishing up with a stroll along City Walk. I was definitely a kid today, and didn't let a dodgy back stop me. We were lucky we went on a week day as the queues were very short. Still, there were thousands of people which the huge park absorbed. The 3D and 4D rides were my favourite, and the Waterworld live show was equally memorable and entertaining. I hope Disneyland and Disney Adventure Park in a few days time also hit the mark.
Harley: Today we did an hour drive to Universal Studios. Universal Studios is a theme park and where Universal Pictures shoot their movies. To start off we went in a super scary haunted house called House of Horrors. You walked for 8 minutes in a completely dark building with scary wax figures, loud haunting music and real actors that jumped out at you. Next we went down to the rides area. First we rode on the Jurassic Park Ride. It was a slow soaking ride on water with mechanical dinosaurs until the end with a 84 ft (25m) drop down a fast water fall!!!!! Then we rode the Revenge Of The Mummy. It went 45mph (70kph) fast and constantly stopped, accelerated, twisted and turned. After that we had a go on the Transformers 3D ride. This ride was different because it had 3D special effect simulations and had many transformers such as Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee fighting against Megatron, with water and heat. Our last ride we The Simpsons. This ride was similar to the Transformers ride but with characters from The Simpsons. To end the day we did a tour of Universal Studios. We got in a bus which took us around the movie sets and stages. We also went through a 3D simulation of King Kong, and went into a Metro station set where there was an earthquake simulation. But the best part was where the movies Jaws was filmed. Jaws jumped up at us a gave everybody a massive splash. Universal Studios was EPIC!!!!!
Anouk: 3 days ago we took a 6 hour plane trip to LA!!! We have hired an American car for 8 days.
Yesterday we went down to the beach for a swim. We walked on a walk way above the sea. We looked over the edge and saw two sand sharks and one little baby sting-ray!
Today we drove to Universal Studios which was epic and the freakiest day of my LIFE!!! First we went into the house of horror which was so so so freaky because people were dressed up in freaky blood costumes and they would jump and frighten you. It was dark so you couldn't see where you where going and you couldn't stop screaming!!! Next we went on the Jurassic Park ride. First we had to sit on soaking wet seats and then it took us up a steep lift to the jungle where the dinosaurs were. The dinosaurs weren't scary but it was soooooooooo freaky when we went down a 84 foot drop super fast water fall thing and thats when I screamed "this is the freakiest day of my life!!!" One show that we watched was the animal training show where we got to see and meet a few cute and famous animals that have been in movies like the dog from the movie, I Bought a Zoo, Beverley Hills Chihuahua and more. We saw ginny pigs, chickens, dogs, cats, a pig, lots of birds, a racoon and more amazing animals. I had a great fun day at Universal Studious and I hope to come back one day when I'm older so I can go on the bigger rides.
