Too Cold For Penguins
Well guys this is our final leg of our trip, but we're in Hong Kong!! It's a fantastic city. We've been here 10 days now and done so much.
The ferry across the harbour is very inexpensive, so we used that a lot! The views are just fantastic. The view from the Avenue of the Stars ( a Chinese version of the Hollywood handprint walk of fame) is brilliant, and it's a nice stroll in the evenings, though we only recognised Jet Li and Jackie Chan. An even better view is from The Peak, the hill directly behind Hong Kong Central district.
There are several outlying islands here and you can get a ferry to pretty much any of them, so we ventured over to Cheung Chau to see the fishing boats and beach.
Ocean Park is a theme-type park on the other side of Hong Kong Island to the city. It's built around a hill so the views are great, and fortunately they have escalators. There's a huge aquarium there full of sharks, fish, eels, turtles and giant rays, and was our favourite bit, the kids didn't get a look in! They also have Pandas which were a treat for us to see, even though one wouldn't turn around so we had to look at his bottom the whole time.
We spent some time looking around the shops. The shopping here is really good and compared to home not too expensive. We were a bit disappointed with the markets though.
We're very sad that this is our last week away, but Hong Kong is a great place to finish and is definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We're looking forward to seeing everyone again when we return and getting back into the swing of things!
See you all soon,
Love Ben and Helen xxx
