Arrived in Melbourne on 5th Feb and were here for 11 nights altogether, we had 3 nights in the city at Flinders Station Hostel and then went to Base Backpackers in St Kilda for rest of time. Got to Cairns on 2nd Feb after taking our last trip on the Greyhound bus! Stayed for three nights at Serpent hostel, was a nice place just a bit out of the centre of Cairns. Went for a wander around the centre on our first afternoon there and did a bit of shopping, every other shop seemed to be a souviner shop!! Unfortunately not that much to write for Mission Beach as rained most of the time we were there!! Had two nights there and on our full day we went down to Mission Beach itself as our hostel was at the next beach down the coast and was quite a sleepy little town. The beach would have been lovely in nice weather but we didn't venture that far on to it! So that's about it really folks, just a quiet two days had. We had one night on Magnetic Ilsand and then one in Townsville on the main land. Arrived by ferry to Magnetic Island and the guesthouse we stayed in had a Rolls Royce which they picked us up in!! Arrived in Airlie Beach at 6am and couldn't check un until 12.30 so had bit of an explore and found the lagoon which is near the beach. Lovely little place and nice to not be covered in sand when we had finished!! Spent rest of the day there after checking in and got supplies for out Whitsunday sailing trip.
