Runnin´On Empty....
Alright, so here goes a little update with promises of pictures, video, and posts to come. I´m currently at school, trying to get things done between classes (one of which is not, ahem, my homework.) As always, so much to do!
I went to Seville and Granada this weekend with five other girls. It was an absolute blast. The cities were both beautiful, but I have to say I´m rather partial to the latter. Once I get pictures and videos up you can all let me know your thoughts too. I literally just got back, pulling into the bus station at about a quarter to 5am this morning (did I really need to write that after the am? Silly girl.) That was actually ahead of schedule - something that NEVER happens in Spain, but I wasn´t complaining. I broke a twenty, hailed a cab, and walked half of the way home to save some money. At first I was thinking my bright pink and white plaid pajama pants (yes Mom, the ones you bought me :-) would make me a target for...I don´t know really...crazy people? But within moments of exiting the taxi I realized that those pants seemed to make ME the crazy person wandering the dark, slippery streets. Usually I´d be offended by such reactions, but in this particular case, I took it all in long, determined stride.
When I got back to my apartment I figured I´d just sneak in and pass out. However Manolo was up and when I walked by his room he was quite surprised. He asked how the weekend went and I told him everything was wonderful - minus our transportation at times. I told him I had to go to bed because I had class at 9am. He just kind of looked at me and patted my arm sympathetically. Manolo does not go to class - ever.
So I took a little nap and slowly, painfully, drudgingly (is that used appropriately here? Is that even a real word? Oy vey!) responded to the incessant beeping of my little red alarm clock. I actually managed to eat breakfast, make coffee (that of anything I could have done this morning was most important), buy new tickets at the Metro station as my one month pass has run out, hop on a line and get to my first class only five minutes late. In Spain, I was right on time! That felt good.
What did not feel good was realizing no one else I am going on the road trip with did any planning all weekend. That is actually the reason I jumped on the computer here, to take the reins as I´m sure you can imagine. We´re trying to do four countries in one week. At a leisurely pace. I believe it can be done.
With that, I´m actually going to leave you so I can get the info down and hopefully we can make some decisions. I´m hoping in the next two to three days I should get up quite a number of photo albums, videos, etc. as I said before. So make sure to check back if you don´t get an update (it won´t send more than one update within 24 hours.) Okay, really going now.
As always, thank you for all of your e-mails, messages, etc. I really love them more than I could ever say.
All my love!
