That morning we had a lovely breakfast at the home stay of fruit, omelettes and bread!
We then went to Walk the nature trails in Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary and prehistoric Eddakal Caves.
We started by arriving at the Eddakal Caves, it was a long walk to the caves and up very steep steps in the jungle! We finally reached the Edakkal Caves, which are believed to have been a shelter of neolithic people. It was a massive cave with lots and lots of carvings of people on the walls from the Stone Age!
We got swarmed by lots of tourists who wanted photos with us! We had a massive group selfie that worked very well! On our way down from the caves we bumped into many monkeys, these seemed to be quite vicious ones! Also Martin was a massive bird watch fan so we stopped now and again to see the birds!
When we got to the bottom, the guide showed us the coffee trees, it was interesting to see!
Later that day we went on a massive Nature Walk which took about three hours. We Enjoyed a nature walk in beautiful Wayanad, which is home to many endangered species and has an amazing range of flora and fauna. We got a taste of the region's culture as we visited a local tribal village. We saw how they used the local bamboo to make many different items from blinds to small little boxes! It was sad when we saw the local people as they explained to us that they have never had an education, so they weren’t the friendliest of people. They had massive holes in there ear lobes and rough clothes!
At the end of our walks we stopped at a tea shop, here they showed us how the man makes the 1 metre tea, he pours it from the pan to the cup which is help 1 metre away!! Crazy!
After that we made our way back to the home stay, had a lovely diner and a few beers and all went straight to bed!
