Since my last blog we have got the bus from Chiang Mai to the border, stayed there the night in a slightly dingy guest house and then went across the Mekong river into Laos. The plan was to get the slow boat down to Louang Prabang which takes 2 days with an over night stop. However we were spoken to by a travel agent who told us that because its the rainy season it can be dangerous on the river and could take more than 2 days as the boat has to stop in the rain...

Hi everyone! The cooking course was really good on saturday, we made about 5 dishes each including thai green curry and sweet and sour chicken! We also got to eat it all at the end, that was the best bit! Yesterday morning we set off at 9am for our trek in the jungle (Sobwin I think the area was called). Ok! So, the night train to Chiang Mai was cancelled due to flooding at the train station, got our tickets refunded and were directed in the right direction to book a night bus instead. Fine, except prices have doubled in the last few days how convenient!! Hi everyone! Well..... we arrived in Bangkok last night, its quite crazy (in the words of my best pal it really is summat else!!). Our hotel good, right around the corner from Kho San road so we headed there first for a look around and some food, really nice Pad Thai from a street stall!
