Welcome to Bali!!!!!
We landed in Bali for our 35 day Indonesian tour to find out we can only apply for a 30 day visa. We don't want to risk the threat of having our legs broken if we overstay, so the options are to call AirAsia and pay £60,000,000 for a date change or for one of us to get elected into the Balinese government and change the International visa rules....
Anyways, Kuta is pretty awesome If you like surfing, the waves are incredible and the beaches really pretty!
We arrived at our 4* hotel to find out our room has been upgraded to a pretty fantastic suite! Beats the mozzie nets of Kho Phi Phi.
The definition of Kuta being, "Benidorm for Aussies," is pretty accurate, but it did allow us to visit both a McDonalds and a Pizza Hut which provided some much needed relief from phad thai, noodles and rice.... Naughty we know...
Planning on getting a shuttle bus up into Ubud for a week or so. The way of life is meant to be really chilled and relaxed and much more, 'Balinese,' in nature.
So waving goodbye to luxury and inviting mozzies and skanky bathrooms once again. Katie has been fantastic, I'm the one who will miss the ESPN football updates and highlights... Not that it's been anything but bad news for Arsenal anyway....
So until Ubud, we bid you farewell for now.
We are off to find the true Hindu in us both...
Nasi Goreng is meant to be a tasty local dish I'm looking forward to trying, based on guess what...... Rice!!!!
