Ventured into RMNP, soooo beautiful!! Followed trail ridge road, which takes you 48 miles thru the park if you follow it all the way. We went about half way which led us on twisty, winding roads past vistas, each more stunning than the previous, past the tree line, kept short by the 100 mph winter winds, up to the tundra where the elk and big horn sheep play!( not today though). We did see a couple of marmoset sunning on the rocks!! We walked to a peak at about 13,000 ft., the view took our breath away!, literally!! Air was quite thin and cool!! Quite something to go from the nat'l parks in Utah @ 100+ degrees, to the top of the rocky mt tundra @ 64 degrees!! What a spectacular 360* view we had,so amazing! On the return to the campground we were fortunate to meet our neighbor mr elk as he proudly strutted across the road to greener shrubs! Such a beautiful area!!
