March 1
So, Arrived in Auckland a little late- but ot too late! Customs seemed to take forever! We had to get our boots checked.. Luckily I had mine right at the top of my bag! Em didn't thugh... Had to unpack everything and wasn't very impressed! Especially when you're told that they're fine and don't need checking! Stayed the night in an airport hostel... it was being done up and was VERY boring!

The journey begins! Took a taxi to the campervan depot! We have a *Wicked* campervan called Beethoven! We didn't name it that... All of the Wicked campers have names! Some of the campers arre quite.. rude.. So we were quite luck really!
Th road trip cammences with Emily at the wheel and Zoe map reading! (I can drive but I'm not covered by the insurance.. So that's just no fun is it?!) Well, it means I can be lazy! Direction Rotorua! There were so many roadworks!
Went to the campsite. Was really cool, you could make your own hangi meals.. where you use the geothermal heat from the ground to cook your food! Ther as a lake next to the campsite... Really wierd... You actually burnt your feet if you dig tem into the sand!
How strange... We met some people from Holmfirth on that campsite! They knew who we were.. but we didn't know them....Know anyone with the last name Griffin from Holme?!

Survived our first night in the camper! It took AGES to get to sleep! So, what to do in Rotorua?! Decided to go to Whakarewarewa! How long s that names?! Was quite hard when we were telling people what we'd done that day! Anyway, there you can see Pohutu errupting! Which is really good because the one that's advertised is on tap.. Ie at 10.15 every day, they turn it on! Whereas the one we saw was natural! We did a tour there... The maori people use the geothermal resources for cooking, bathing, lving.. you name it, they know what to do! Also saw the haka dance in the village! Also, went to the top of the mountain there.. The views were stunning!

Rotura --> Lake Taupo!
We're on our way to nowhere.. Max n' Paddy style! We climbed Rainbow Maountain, which was on the way... The views were amazing! I love New Zealand!
Supposedly Lake Taupo is the same size as Singapore! It's pretty big alright! So after trying to flash another Wicked camper and actualy turning on the windscreen wipers and spraying them.. We went to a free campsite that was really nice... Ok they were drop toilets, but what's the problem when they're free and the campsite was next to the river?!
