Today we got up and traveled on the ferry to Ko Phi Phi. We were so tired from the night before that we slept most of the way there. When we got to Phi Phi Island we needed to find somewhere to stay and as it is such a small island there are no tuc tucs or taxis so we carried our heavy bags in the heat for ages trying to pick where we wanted to stay. We finally booked somewhere and quickly got our backpacks off our backs. Before we went to have a drink and see what the island was like we realised our safety deposit box wouldn't open for us to use it. So we spoke to the manager who spent a long time going through so many keys trying to open it. He couldn't open it but said he would replace our safety box later on. Before we left me and Amelia checked the window and after finding that it wouldn't lock and trying to lock it the window fell out and to the outside and dropped on the floor so we had to call the manager again to fix the window- not the most successful start. When we finally got out we saw how small and quaint the island is. There are no cars and roads there, everyone walks or uses bikes. The beach was lovely and we found a bar along it to have a drink after lugging our bags around in the heat. When we got back to the hotel we had a new safety deposit box and after using the Internet for a bit we got ready and headed out for dinner and to check out the night life. We ate pizza at a restaurant along the beach, it was really windy. We went to look around at the night life and found a bar where there was Thai boxing on so we went to watch. People from the audience were volunteering to go up and fight against each other. One girl wanted to fight and Me and Amelia were asked to take part for a free bucket- we declined the offer and choose to watch! It was crazy fighting and some guys were not following the rules and kneeing each other were they shouldn't be! Once the volunteers had fought the professional Thai boxes took to the ring. Unlike the volunteers they were not wearing helmets. They were really good and flipped each other and knocked each other to the ground. Some of it did look a bit staged when they fell and we weren't sure if it was a little set up for the audience and maybe they were saving themselves for there professional fights. Once we watched the boxing we took a walk around to see what else there was. We got stopped by some guy on a stag do who wouldn't leave us alone until we followed them, they were pretty old and drunk so we snuck away as soon as we could. It started to pour with rain so we went inside a Irish pub which was playing good music we had a drink and dance there until it closed. Most of the bars on the island seemed to shut around one and everyone headed to the bars on the beach. We were pretty tired and it was still raining so we headed back to our hotel and thought we'd explore the bars on the beach the next night.
