This is Auckland again - cannot get my photos up on the blog yet for our next destinations. Next morning, Wednesday 7th we drove down and East to the Coromandel Penninsular, beautifull rolling hills, another fairly cloudy day with breaks of sunshine. We camped eventually at a lovely little place called Pauanui on the East Coast just on the outskirts of the Coromandel National Park, by the beach and the harbour, woke up to a lovely morning on the Thursday...Camping at its best. Thursday was a drive from Pauanui to Rotorua a famous spa town, away from the coast, but before we got there we stopped before we got to Rotorua, to go Zorbing!!, Ive always wanted to do it and it was great fun rolling down a hill in a huge plastic ball, filled with water aswell. A wet Zorb ride. Loved it!.
Arrived in Rotorua after lunch, it has lots of natural springs and they have capitalised on it even more by building attractions like the 'Polynesian Spa' (photo to be added) which we visited early evening by which time the weather was getting better and better. Rotorua was nice, it is a huge tourist town, the only thing that lets it down is the intense smell of Sulphur that is pretty bad at times, however it was'nt too bad when we visited as it was a fairly mild day, about 18 degrees, the heat would make it far worse!. Spent our third night in Rotorua campsite.
