We arrived in Koh Phangan and quickly realized what we'd got ourselves into for the full moon party. The streets were already flooding with people and "bucket stands" where they'd sell you a Micky of booze, pop of your choice and a red bull for 150 baht (five dollars). There were literally hundreds of said bucket stands as well as a crazy amount of full moon party souvenir shops. We met up with my friend Logan from the mountain and one of his friends for the day and just hung out by the pool at his resort and went for a few swims in the ocean. Relaxing day as we knew what was to come. It turned out he had a few friends from Ladner who were coincidentally there at the same time, with a bunch of their friends from England and Australia and wherever else. We ended up having a crew of about 15 people for the party. We didn't head down to the beach until midnight, but it was just as crazy as I had imagined, if not more so. There were literally upwards of 30000 people on one beach, which I had pictured being much much bigger. There was everything from water slides through fire to a rope climbing wall all right on the beach. We started dancing and next thing I knew it was 5 am and pretty well everyone from the group had separated so Logan Willem and I decided to head back to his resort to grab our stuff which we had stored there as we had to catch a 7 am ferry back to koh samui in order to get on our 1130 am bus to Phuket. All in all, the party was a great time.
