Whilst I was at Sunbury my niece took me to some lovely little towns around the area. Up to Gisborn with lovely homes and gardens. Over to Daylesford which has a beautiful lake, which we walked around. This is a realy tourist town particularly for the Melbourne folk for the weekend. I did a day trip up to Bendigo which has really grown. The old town was lovely with its beautiful building. The park right in the centre of town was lovely to walk though. Up the hill to the cathedral then down into town. After lunch I drove out to Bendigo pottery very interesting.
At last I'm on the road again heading north first night stop at Swan Hill which is on the Murray River. This is a big fruit and wine area.
The drive from Swan Hill to Robinvale was extrordinary. It was just continuous orchards and grape vines in rich red soil. All the properties were immaculately kept. Then you would be driving along the Murray River. Now I'm in Midura with the caravan park right on the Murray. Today I had lovely walks along the Murray River then went for a ride on a paddle steamer down the Murry. The weather has been good although the mornings very cold. Tomorrow I move on to Broken Hill
