Back at Mt. Gambier the weather wasn't all that kind, but we had plenty to see. Our caravan park was just down the road from the Blue Lake, so we saw it many time going in and out. Because of the weather it wasn't that bright blue that you expect but still colourful. There was a big dog show on so we wondered about seeing all shapes and sizes of dogs. There were a lot at out park, but they were very well behaved. Also there was a big horse show jumping competion on so we watched them for awhile. We drove down to the coast to Pt. McDonnell which is advertised as the Lobster capital of S.A. all I could get was a lobster pie (it was very good) There are lots of sinkpoles in Mt. Gambier area and some the have made beautiful gardens in them.
From Mt. Gambier we drove to Port Fairy a small town but had some interesting history. One day we drove in Warrnambool went through a restore old village. It was very will done with people still working.
Then came the big day of driving the Great Ocean Rd. It was absolutely wonderful. We were fortunate to start at the eastern end as the lookout were not busy and the view spectacular. By the time we got to London Bridge it was just crowded with tourist and very commercial. We were very fortunate that the weather was perfect. After leaving the coast we drove through wonderful wooded forrest with amazing tall trees. Apollo Bay is a very pretty spot and so much to see around the area. Today we drove up into Great Otway Nation Park doing lots of walks into lookouts and falls. The scenery is amazing with tree ferns tall trees and mountains.
