After a VERY quick home to Perth I'm now back on the road and heading north. Picking the van up in Townsville I headed a short distance north to Ingham. This is a pretty place with plenty to see. A trip up to Wallaman Falls which is the highest sheer drop of 305 meters. The mountain rage in the area is really beautiful. Hi All, Well Townsville has been another experience. To get to the caravan park once again I took the tourist route through the middle of town. An hour and half later I found it. That night we had very strong winds and heavy rain, so not much sleep was had. Next day was windy and overcast, but I thought I had better find my way around the town. This place is really paradise (except for the midgies). The mountains covered is forest vegitation and then the beautiful sea. From CNP I travelled north to Emerald, where I turned east towards the coast. This inland area is full of open cut coal mines, so you get lots of very long trains, and a couple of big power stations. Travelling through Rockhampton to the coast of Yeppoon. Here I stayed for 5 days just to relax and clean up. When I said the wide open spaces, I didn't think it would be so wide. There is nothing between Broken Hill and Charleville, so it has been three days of just driving. Mind you I think I could ride any bucking horse now after the state of the roads and swerving it miss all the road kill. The route I took was Broken Hill to Bourke.
