Early morning was finally time to check out of the Milhouse and make out way to the ferry to get to Uruguay. Junior was not feeling the best today and we had to run around town trying to find a money exchange place as we still had about $200 USD in local money and we were told you couldn't change it outside of Argentina. As we found out it’s actually the other way around and you can’t change money in Argentina if you are not a local. So that didn’t help Juniors health.
The ferry cost’s $100USD and takes 1 hour direct from BA to Colonia, Uruguay. After that we had a 4 hour bus trip to get us to Punta del Este which is like the Gold Coast. High rise buildings, tanned beautiful bodies and great beaches. We stayed at a cool hostel called F&F hostel with a cool outdoor area with a bar and pool. It was pretty expensive though (like most places in Punta in peak season) we paid about $35 each for a 10 bed dorm and it was s*** as the night life in Punta del Este doesn’t start till about 3am which is fine if you’re going out but Junior was feeling quite sick by now and just wanted to sleep. Everyone in the dorm went to bed when we did but then they woke up at 2am and started getting ready for the night, so they’d turn on the light and talk between themselves like its 9pm. So we had 3 crappy night sleeps. The next morning Junior was feeling worse so the hostel called a doctor to come out and see him. They even paid for it which was good. Something to do with their insurance. He had a chest infection and had to go on antibiotics for a week. During the day we just chilled on the beach with under our new beach umbrella and checked out the city. It was good to have a few chilled out days so Junior could start getting better. He didn’t have a beer for 4 days so he must have been sick!
