Arrived in Ica after 1.5 days on a bus which is not as fun as it sounds. We then got straight into a taxi to Huacachina about 5 mins from Ica. It was amazing, its a tiny village surrounded by sand dunes and it´s built around a lagoon. The Sant Cruz Trek is a very popular 4 days, 3 nights trek through the Andes. Day 1 - We were told to meet at the travel agency at 6am. We get there a little before 6 and wait. We took a bus trip to Cajamarca where the last Inka was killed. It was an amazing trip. It was only about 350KM but took 12 hours. We were winding around mountains thousands of meters above sea level in and out of clouds. The views were amazing and the road was a little scary at times with a mountain on one side and a cliff on the other. We arrived early in the morning after a 9 hour night bus and found a great hostal on the plaza. After a quick nap we headed out and checked out the town which was nice. We went and had one of the best coffees we've had yet and breakfast at cafe called Fusiones We booked a day tour for the next day to the ruins Kuelap.
