We read up in the Lonley Planet to find a place to stay and La Casa Roja sounded perfect we arrived checked in and walked out the back to see a wicked pool, swim up bar, BBQ and hammocks it reminded me about Perth summer at christmas time. We headed into town trying to find a bus to Santiago but silly us didn't think about Christmas and all the buses were fully booked out. We thought of all different types of options to get us down to Santiago for Christmas and the best idea was Hitchhiking. We arrived in San Pedro where we just stayed one night to re-coupe. We did some washing and got ready for our departure to Santiago. It was quite hot but you get that in the desert I guess. Couldn't find a pool so we just chilled out. We went and booked a bus to the next main town where there was more bus options.

So we left La Paz on a overnight bus to Uyuni, where there is nothing at all it's just the starting point for all the tours to the salt flats. The bus was not good it was tiny little up right seats so we didnt sleep all that well. We arrived in town around 530 in the morning and searched around for the best priced tour and again got ripped off.
