Arriving back in Havana we went back to the same hostel that we had stayed at before. But they had no room so she called a friend and she came around to get us. She was like its really close but after six blocks walking with our packs in the heat of the day it did not feel close at all. The place was really nice though but it was the most expensive $25 a night.
In the arvo we went into Vijares Habana and did a little pub crawl it was good to check out the different places. At the Brewery which had $3 pint of beer and burger we bumped into the Irish couple that we had meet in Guatemala. We ended up finishing the pub crawl with them and finally getting home at about 3am. The police saw us walking home and were only 1 block from our house.
They said "Have you got your passports, visa or photocopy?"
We said "No but we only live around that corner so you can come with us and we can show you."
We were trying to explain where our place was and they were said "No, jump in the car and we will take you there."
So thinking this could go wrong but with no other choice we hop in the car with no door handles in the back and go for a ride. They drove us 2 blocks in the wrong direction and then turned towards our place and then 2 blocks back in the right direction and then to our door. It was rather funny at the end and they could of asked us for money but didn't so we were happy.
The next day we walked around town all day long just taking in Cuba. At night we went out to dinner and had this great Paella and then went to the Buena Vista Social Club which had about 10 performers and dancers. It was in a restaurant with about 100 people. It was really good and they really involved the crowd. I ended up doing the conga line with them and then we both ended up dancing along with them. It was a great end of our Cuba trip.
Had a flight in the arvo back to Cancun. We caught a wicked old 50´s car to the airport which was going out in style.
