Today we got back on the horrible subway (still not a fan) and headed straight for the CN Tower, once your on the ground you don't really need a map to get there as it towers over every other building you can't miss it.
The CN Tower in 181 stories, 553.33m tall and we got to the top in 58 seconds on an elevator with glass panels and a glass bottom. Wheyyyyyy
The tower weighs 130,000 tons and gets struck by lightening on an average 75 times per year!! The reason it is still standing is because of the long copper strips running down the tower that feed into massive grounding rods below ground level.
Once you get to the top you can take in the views at the sky bar, take pictures from the look out or even hang off the edge attached by a harness. We didn't do that, we opted for the bar - of course.
We then took a boat trip around Toronto islands which was really beautiful and we saw all the rich people pull up on their yachts. A lot live over there in the summer months. We got off at the main island and saw people on these really cool dual bicycles so we decided to hire one of them and go riding around for 2hrs. It was a great way to see all the island and have some fun too. Me and kirsty took it in turns to drive, stopping off at various different parts of the island to check out the views and attractions. There was a beach, parks, bbq area, lighthouse, skateparks, disc golf, lots of kids camps walking around, you could kayak on the lake or paddle board. Lots to do.
We grabbed a bite to eat from a pizza joint and went to sit on a bench outside, shortly after we got attacked by seagulls trying to steal our food so we made a dash for the undercover seating just in time to save it.
We were glad to get back on the boat so we could cool down, it was easily 30 degrees today!
For dinner we ate at the Amsterdam brewery on queens quay west over looking the lake. It's a massive place with really nice american food and all the beers, lagers etc are made fresh every day, on site. Kirsty had a pulled pork sandwich with a fruity cider and I had a brisket burger with 3speed beer on tap. Tasty
