Soooooo..........after a 13 hour night bus and a good nights sleep at Airlie Beach we set out for sail on the Pride of Airlie Sail Boat....Aka 'The Party Boat' lol. We all got settled on the deck of the boat and made headways for the Whitsunday Islands.........We sat on the deck for a while with our cans of Red Bear (vodka & Pinapple...refreshing!) until the sea got a little wrough and the water splashed over the sides of the boat completely soaking us ...lol :). Sooooo we made our way to the rear of the boat deck where everyone was sat chatting and drinking..................you meet some well nice people travelling....we met loads on the boat....a couple from Leeds where we exchanged details of our nights out in Leeds and Cardiff etc.......... a Canadian guy called "Moose" which turned out to be our brilliant party organiser for the next 2 days, so the time on the boat was spent drinking and chatting away until we reach our destination....................................It was a small island where a resort and hostel was situated on the shore....it was really nice! it had tennis courts, golf, swimmimg pool, hot Tub and a fab party bar with stirdy tables (for standing on) and a pole (to swing around lol). We got settled and changed for the night and headed to the bar for our tea...........Steak, chicken, noodles, potato salad(Very CRUNCHY!), Salad and bread and butter....sooooooooo we got tucked in and got ready to party the night away..............................The whole bar played drinking games together which was really fun ....never played it with soo many people! soon the party got started...the music turned up and the people got drunk......... the games were brill everyone had teams and there were clothes swaps, the tables doubled up as stages and the pole got made full use of!...Crazy!!!!!
The next day we were up bright and early for breakfast at 6am!!!!! we ate our bacon and egg sarnie and headed for the seas..................We stopped off at Tiger island where we trecked up to a viewing point which was a brilliant view of the sand on the Island which would form strange shapes aound the seas edge......we then walked down to the beach the sand was amazing, it's the finest sand in the world made from fine particles of the Quartz stone, it's soo sooo fine and a brilliant white colour... a few comments from others about the sand - "its like smash" - "its like Cookie Dough to me". The sand was brilliant you can rub against your jewellary and it will clean it and give it a great shine.......we all wrote in the sand too! We couldn't go in the water as it's stinger season and breeding grounds for tiger sharks..so we headed back to the boat for a spot of lunch (same again - but less crunchy - nice:-) then sailed towards another island whereby we stopped and put on our sexy stinger suits and snorkling gear and snorkled The Great Barrier Reef....it was amazing we saw many, many types of coral...some hard, some soft, some like brains, some spikey and in all colours! We also got to see some Fantastic fish all colours amazing!! The fish loved the bread too so we would break off tiny peices of bread and the fish would come right up and take it out of your hand......fantastic!!! Later we get back on deck for a game of 'Ring of Fire' a great card/drinking game for all to play...soooo we started the evening as we meant to go on!!! lol :) Back on land that evening we made full use of the facilities as we played tennis you should of seen us go in our doubles game.......Serina & Venus here we come lol! then went for a little dip before heading to the bar for our tea and a little more laid back drinking session for the evening later retiring to the balcony where everyone sat and chatted.
The next day we were up a little later (only half hour mind!) went for breckie and boarded the Pride of Airlie for the last time, lots of the people now were shattered after a long few days and just decided to take it easy on the deck lapping up the sun and we also had another snorkling session whereby there were less coral and a few more fish. We headed back to Airlie beach only to be greated with an unpleasant experiance............... Everyone that had gone on the boat trip had kept their bags in the locker room and over night it had been broken into!!!!!!!!!!!! There was stuff everywhere in the room and they were letting us in 2 by 2 to get bags and gather stuff............. we stood at the front of the que for 15mins while we watched 2 of the boys gather their things that had been taken out of their bags and they reported passports, phones and cards missing!!!!! Our bags were unlocked and we could clearly see that Donna's bag had been opened....so you can imagine how we felt ...........the longest 15mins ever!!! We knew our important things like passports etc were ok as they were in the hostel safe but we were very lucky that when we got our bags Donna's had just been opened slightly as the buckles we done up on the sides and nothing was missing and Lucy's bag was ok but it looked like they had broken her lock!!!!! So after a daunting 15mins all was ok and we went for a free meal (for the inconvience) and had a catch up with all the peeps from our past week, as next we are heading for Magnetic Island for a chill out!!!!!!!
Love You All Lots
