Ahoj,
This is a bit late but thought we better put it in before we do the rest. We left Prague on Monday at about 1pm although we were at the bus stop by 11 30 becuase somebody read
the ticket wrong (he shant be named).
We spent until Thursday in Cesky Krumlov staying in a fairly basic but very homely little hostel right by the river. Although the showers werent the best it was cold for the first 20 seconds then suddenly too hot to even stand in there.
On Tuesday we climbed the highest mountain in the region Klet Mt. 1100m above sea level. The whole walk was 18km and took about 4hours all up but the views were pretty impressive so worth it for sure. (some parts were fairly steep and my (rhis) legs hurt for like 3 days after).
Wednesday was a pretty cruisy day. Had really been looking forward to floating down the river on a tube which is the thing to do, but it was crap as weather, really overcast
and not very warm. So we went to see the castle instead, pretty cool as it is sort of built into the side of a mountain and right next to the river. Had a tasty lunch in the town square and chilled out in the arvo with some cheap beers, in fact as soon as we got back from the shops with our dinner supplies (really yum sausages and 10cent noodles) it started bucketting with rain.
To tell the truth Cesky Krumlov is an amazing town but without good weather there really isnt that much to do. With beautiful sunny days you could spend a fair few days there taking trips to the nearby mountains, cycling and rafting down the river vlata.
It was good for cheap Vodka and Absinth (60percent). (can someone find if we can bring it back to Aus).
On our last night there saw an amazing sunset over the castle. Eventually will put up the pic when we can and you can be dazzled by this aesthetic delight. haha.
