Said goodbye to Vang Vieng early in the morning, as we boarded a tiny private van to head to Luang Prabang. The drive took us 6 hours, but we stopped every two hours to have a break and grab some food. When we finally reached Luang Prabang, we headed to Mount Phousi to view the temple and enjoy the stunning view as the sun set.
After the sun went down we made our way to Lao Lao Garden restaurant. All of us ordered the same dish, I can't remember what it was referred to but it is basically another cook our own food dish. They bring out a dome shaped griddle and place it in the center of the table; ontop of hot coal. You then get a side plate including: meats (pork, chicken, and water buffalo), vegetables, egg, and vermicilli noodles, and two pieces of fat. So you put broth into the sides of the griddle and toss in all of the vegetables, egg, and noodles into the broth. Then you melt some of the fat on top of the hot plate and place your meat there; turning the meat on occassion until it is done. It was tasty, just found the portion sizes to be a bit small. But it was interesting and no one got sick from their own cooking!
After dinner we went to have a look at the local market and headed back to the hotel.

Peter Parker Sounds pretty neat how they had you cooking the meat. And just to think you cooked everything to a safe eating temperature. What kind of meat did you have. ?
