KOA Camp
Quebec, Canada
Happy 4 of July!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (-: Without question the most physically painful day I have experienced on any vacation type trip. We hit the trifecta.
Today was butt to belly button day in Old Quebec. The government workers traditionally take the week off after Canada Day so they were out. Three cruise ships came in and 3000 people were swarming. The Quebec Annual music festival starts this coming week and hundreds of 'set up' vans, trucks and workers were prepping for the event.
AND it was 100 degreeswith a heat index of 108 and no breeze!!!!!
The double decker tour bus around the city seemed a great idea EXCEPT they are not air conditioned!!!!!! Rick sat on the open top deck and is a pink cheed boy this morning. I sat by an open window poring water on my head an neck with my head out the window.
After the bus tour, we had 2 hours to kill before our shuttle bus back to the KOA arrived. Every establishment that wanted touris was open and chargin out the wazzooo. Every establishment that did not want tourists, including most of the 'near' ones with bathrooms, would not allow you in unless you were a customer. Near heat exahustion we siddled up to this open window Einglish pub type bar. Rick drank a couple of beers. I drank a couple of glass of water inbetween taking the ice out an holding on my neck and head. We look thourly pathetic all pink wrinkled and wet. (-:
After all the bad visuals that gives you, I must say Quebec was a facinating and beautiful city. The tour bus guide did a great job of giving an historical overview. Lots of FRench and English battles. I would come back but only if I knew no crusie ships or festivals are going to be here at the same time.
We leave tomorrow for Baie-Comeau, which I have badly mispronunced according to evey Frenchman I have asked about it. It is about 6 - 7 hour from here and we will ride our first ferry on this trip. So that is it for to day. More later. (-:
