We arrived in Wanaka at 6pm and drove past the famous lake where we stopped and had a brief walk about. We went and checked into a hostel and spent the evening here catching up on news from back home etc.

Following day we headed back to the lake to have another wander in the daylight and truly is a huge Lake. I think this is the fourth biggest lake in New Zealand and is 300metres deep in places!!! How about that for some interesting facts there!!! After this we headed to a placed called Stuart Landsboroughs Puzzlign World. This place has all sorts of illusions and puzzles to contend with and was really good fun. The finale being the maze outside which you have to get to the four coloured corners and then find your way out. To begin and thought what a good job we were doing at it. The last corner however proved a little harder to negotiate and frustration set in!!! Not a patient man when things cannot be solved!!! However after an hour or so of tourment we located the illusive corner and the exit, good frustrating fun!!!! That was pretty much it for Wanaka, so not exactly the longest of blogs but hey it has given me something to do for the last 5 mins whilst I await my flight!!!!

Next stop on this whislte stop tour of the South island was to be Franz Josef for some glacier climbing. Watch this space!!!
