Hello everyone,
Me and Brett have now spent a week in Melbourne and we're loving it here! Its been a pretty busy week and we still have a few more days left here.
Last monday night, Me, Brett, Alice and Catriona went to Neighbours night - an event hosted in a British Pub in St. Kilda where characters old and new from Neighbours, the eternal soap, entertain a predominantly British crowd. It was a great night out climaxing with Dr. Karl Kennedy and his band - the waiting room - performing a live set. Awesome.
We went to the zoo last week as well, getting in as students with two expired student cards and two with no student cards, success! The zoo was great, we saw: Lions, Tigers, Gorillas, Baboons, Bears, Kangaroos, Koalas, Wombats, Meerkats, Snow Leopard and some boring birds. We were also scheduled to go on a Bar crawl on Wednesday as well but that got cancelled so we just went out to St Kilda. That was cut short when Brett got a banging Migrane and we went home...
We also seem to be massive fitness freaks now, going on a daily run every morning for a good half an hour. Gotta work off that fast food. My legs are aching after the first bit of exercise in weeks but im getting better at it. We've bought a rugby ball and a football to keep us entertained and we've had a few intense sessions of it in the park. Also tried to teach the girls frisbee with limited success.
Friday 25th April was Anzac Day in Australia, a day where they celebrate and honour those who fought for their country. Its a huge day in Australia, a public holiday where they have parades in the streets. There is also an Anzac tradition of the AFL Collingwood vs Essendon match at the MCG. Unfortunately all 90,000 tickets were sold out so we watched Collingwood (the team we chose before the game) thrash Essendon by 77 points - the largest ever Anzac Day winning margin.
At this moment on a sunday afternoon we are about to go to safeway to pick up some supplies for our customary sunday roast dinner so I must bid you farewell for now.
Till next time x
