Another long travel day lay ahead of us & it was also our final day of the tour. Our first stop of the day was at Devils Marbles. Many moons ago a volcano erupted & spewed out lots of rocks, which over time have eroded & formed spherical rocks. We strolled around & climbed over several of the rocks & took some cool photos. Your options are fairly limited when walking around some large stones!!
Next we headed to Wycliffe Wells, which is the self proclaimed UFO capital of Australia. There was due to be a UFO convention starting that day, but it had been cancelled due to the floods, which was a shame as I would have found that rather interesting. They still had a fair few things to look at though, with model aliens & various articles from the papers about local sightings.
Back on the road we went until we reached Barrow Creek. This was the place that the backpacker Johanna Lees showed up after escaping her kidnapper. Her boyfriend, Peter Falconi has still never been found.
Our last stop before Alice Springs was at the Tropic of Capricorn. Again not much to do here other than to take photos & have fun jumping over the imaginary tropic line! Whoo!
After stopping for a quick photo at the Alice Springs sign, we arrived at our hostel in Alice. That evening we all headed out to Annie's Bar for a good bye meal & drinks session.
