A 3 hour bus drive took us to Vieng Vang & quite possibly the time of our lives. We arrived a bit too late to do the tubing that day, but promised ourselves that we would definitely do it tomorrow. So instead we hired some bicycles & went on a 14km round trip to Poukham Caves & blue lagoon. One very steep climb up some rocks, with some shoddy makeshift handrails, we made it into the cave system. But even with our best Indiana Jones impressions, the lack of torches meant that we couldn't go in as far as we would have liked, unless we wanted the cave to be our tombs. Before the ride back, a few of us took the opportunity to cool off in the lagoon & made good use of the rope swings. That evening took us to an Irish pub for dinner, beers & pool. This town definitely had the nightlife that we were looking for, but most places seemed to shut at midnight. Thankfully we had bought whisky buckets just before closing, so our alcohol lasted a bit longer before bedtime.
