Okuma beach was awesome! We stayed in a military resort nestled within the foothills of Okuma, on a peninsula with a south and north beach. The property is perfect for families, it had golf, gokarts, playground, etc. We mostly stuck with the beach, except Malikai was in the batting cage within 5 minutes of us arriving.
The morning after we arrived it was pouring! It finally let up a bit and we went exploring. We found an unoccupied area of the island with several hidden lagoons, the kids climbed the trees and picked dragon fruit. We haven't tasted it yet, but it is supposed to be good. Also, there were really interesting shells all over the beaches, so we hunted for shells and treasures. The boys found old sea buoys and other cool and strange things that washed up on shore. There were hermit crabs all over and Kylie kept capturing and releasing them. She would have a hermit crab farm if we let her.
Today we did a bit more exploring, and Adam, Jeff, and Malikai went wake boarding. Narci and I went snorkeling, and Kylie caught as many hermit crabs as she could find.
It was hard to leave, we had a blast. And, since it was the weekend and the office was closed, I finally got some sleep! :)
