When Stephen and Bernie eventually entered the land of the living, Bernie cooked us a late lunch and we then walked down to St Kilda beach front. We didn't know what to wear as we had heard that the weather was likely to change that day. When we left the house we thought that it was really humid and that jeans were a bad choice but when we got to the waterfront we learned why Melbourne is known for experiencing 4 seasons in 1 day. Suddenly it became really cold, like the wind had rapidly changed direction and it began pouring with rain.

With little to do on a beach in the rain, Bernie took us to 2 of his favourite pubs in the area where we chilled out for a few hours before heading home.

Being shattered from Friday night's antics I chose to stay at home that night. Stephen and Bernie visited the casino....

(sw) Bernie and myself took the tram into town and as we approached the casino were greeted by the hourly light show, where large flames are shot into the sky from six pillars outside. We were standing about 10 meters away and could still feel the heat as the flames lit up the sky.

We then entered the casino and perched ourselves at the entrance bar where there was live music in the form of two men on the piano. Very relaxed and cool.

We then walked around the various tables before settling down on one of the 10 dollar black jack tables. After our initial efforts failed we decided to throw good money after bad... But were both pleasantly rewarded by not only retrieving our initial stake but making an additional profit! We then settled down for a celebrational beer or two before heading home. A good night....
