Today we arrived in the Jervis bay area which had been recommended to us by friends. It was a long drive to Sydney from Port Macquarie taking us about 6 hours in total with stops. We arrived on a cloudy afternoon, initially relieved that it was slightly cooler than the temperatures we had been experiencing further up North. Today we arrived in Coffs harbour which in short was a disappointment. We had expected a small fishing village, sandy beaches and lots of restaurants. What we got was an average sandy beach, a big town, hotel miles from everything and very little to do. We ended up in the town's bowling club for lack if anywhere else to go (SW - where we had our cheapest round ever!! Less than 7 dollars for a beer and a wine). Food was even harder to come by. Today we picked up our hire car, a blue Toyota Corolla and left Brisbane. Today we visited the lone pine Koala sanctuary. Whilst normal people probably would have taken the ferry or a bus, we decided to bike the 22km there. We had been told the rote was almost entirely along the river and flat so it sounded simple enough...
