Hi :)

just arrived at the holiday inn LAX which is the starting point for my tour which kicks off first thing in the morning.

The idea yesterday was to do Hollywood then downtown LA but LA is WAY bigger than any of us anticipated. Darren, Evan, Noah, Cav, Camo and I all jumped on a hop on hop off bus. Saw Hollywood, which is exciting for about 3 seconds until you realize that you really don't care too much for celebrities. Culture here is all about celebrity. Every little corner shop has it's own celebrity story - this is where brad Pitt worked dressed up like a chicken, this is the motel Jim carrey stayed in on arrival in Hollywood etc etc. All of which look like daggy American places. Beverly hills was nice and rodeo drive is really no different to most elite shopping streets. They're all about celebrity spotting here in LA (as well as organic frappacinos and skateboarding) but I wouldn't know Jay-Z if I fell over him.

Spent today wandering around Santa Monica - did some shopping then hung out at the pier. For those movie buffs, this is the pier that Forrest gump ran to the end of then turned around and just kept running (wow second Forrest gump site).

So greatly disappointed that I'll miss the world cup final and Im hoping someone will record it for me... As i said, tour begins tomorrow so I'm on my own from here on in. Tour up to San Fran, 4 nights in San Fran then last 2 nights in Diego which I'm HOPING like crazy will see some hot weather as LA weather has been rubbish an topped off with rain late this arvo.
