Had to spend an extra day in Hervey Bay as I couldn't get through to the bus company. The weather has been really bad here and some roads north of here were flooded (still raining now). Nothing at all to do in Hervey Bay so spent my time walking around, along the beach and reading. An irritating yank moved into the dorm which didn't help. Arrived in Hervey Bay after a long bus ride from Surfers Paradise (didn't bother stopping in Brisbane). Hervey Bay is very sleepy and there's not much here at all so went out, booked my following day trip to Fraser Island (the largest sand island in the world) and went for a walk and spent that evening in. Spent the next few days walking and looking around the shops. I'd generally walk down to Broadbeach along the sea, stop for a sunbathe, drinkie, lunch and mooch around the shops. Had a lovely bbq cooked by Linda on Thursday evening and got an early night. In Queensland now and another hour nearer to home too!! Arrived at Colin and Linda's early afternoon after a nice drive up the coast and lunch on Nobbys beach in a surf club. Lovely to be staying somewhere normal again. Had a nap, a swim, played with the mental dogs and stroked the gorgeous cat .
