OK so I did it for all the Asian countries, I'm lumping together all the last 4 countries I visited for a best of. Best Meal: Salmon, rice and potato salad in Höfn, Iceland. Why? Cause the fish was 50% off! Cheaper than back home to boot. Best Capital: Copenhagen. Cool cobblestone streets, canal tours, a little mermaid statue and drinking in the streets at 10am! Stockholm could almost take the prize, but the problem is all the Swede's that live there. Bigest case of Eurotrash: The regions filed with fashion tragics, but discounting Roskilde my favourite was a lovely lady sporting jeans with the cuffs rolled half way up the calf with lacy white stockings underneath and pink high heels. Wicked. (Thais was at the ORingen campground as well) Best Culture: Iceland. As I mentioned in my last post, this is one country with real unique identity. The other 3 had a tendency to blend (just don't tell them that) Biggest Scab Moment: Stealing cereal and milk from the kitchen of the hotel I was camping at in Iceland. Hey, they let us use the kitchen to cook in and just leave you there with al the food - what am I meant to do? Bigest Sweeping Generalisation: Swedes are boring and a bit lame. Biggest Sissy Pretty Boys: Get this. They proved power outlets at ORIngen near the toilets for electric razors and the like. We spotted 2 young Swedish lads using them for hair straighteners. No joke. Most girls weren't even wearing makeup - we're camping here for gods sake. 'Oh I can't have my blonde fowing locks retaining their natural state, what will people think.' Made me gald I'm an Aussie. Funiest: Crazy old people who talk to you in their language, and keep talking to you after you say 'I speak english, no Norske' Longest Wait: 5 nights in the backwaters of the Westfjords of Iceland at the mercy of the tri-weekly bus. Stupidest Bottleshop: Any in Sweden. Run by the government you have to fill out a form and take a number. Most guilt: Picking on swedes all the time.
