A bleak day ahead after saying goodbye to team Collins this morning. Whalans not sure what to do with themselves with no mates - (how did we cope for 11 weeks?!). The oldies hung out with a book whilst kids played (schools?!) until that deteriorated and we pulled the pin to get a coffee. We played a spot of family volleyball with a soccer ball until everyone got too sore and decided to head to Eli Creek via the Maheno Wreck. We loved learning what a rich history this once grand old steamer had, was even a hospital ship at Gallipoli. Many ghosts it must hold and fitting that they rest in such a beautiful part of the world. We were a little disappointed to find Eli Creek Bogan free, and while we were there a bit of weather blew in. Kids shivering away but determined to squeeze one more swim out of our holiday! We definitely got the pick of the weather while everyone was here, the island seemingly now being given over to fisherman, the campground similarly deserted. Whalans feeling forlorn at end of our trip and spent the afternoon sorting out postcards and a bit of journaling at which we are so far behind it’s not funny. Ah well, we will need to fill in time once we get back I’m sure?! Hmmm.
Last night of beautiful stars and listening to the ocean whilst heading outside for toilet stops- one thing I will not be missing!
