This housesit is near Arrarat, very cold, wood heater going 24/7 for the whole time we were there. There were three horses to look after, moving in and out of paddock for feeding. Did not need to rug them as the owner had them rugged when we arrived. Getting the washing dry would have been a problem, except, we had our portable clothes line, which we set up in the loft (bedroom) above the lounge room. The flue for the heater passed through this room, thus giving heat to dry the clothes.

The owner said that the light switches for the hall light were not working properly and the exhaust fan in the bathroom was not working. When he realised I was a qualified electrician he asked if I could have a look at the light switch and exhaust fan, would pay for any work I did. Exhaust fan had a broken wire, the light switch (which had recently been replaced) was not the correct type for intermediate switching. I repaired the broken wire and replaced the switch with the correct type. Exhaust fanand light now working as they should, owner very happy when he returned home.
