Ok so arrived in Saigon - south of Vietnam nad planned to stay only a couple of says - its a very very busy city and totally massive. We headed towards the hostel we were hoping would have a bed but ther ewas no room at the inn - nor at plan B. Some little lady came upon us on the street and ushered us towards her family run hotel - and it was pretty perfect for what we wanted. So we pitched up and then went exploring the city.

Basically our we wanted to do a couple of things and one was to visit theC Chi Tunnels. Basically these are a network of tunnels used in the 1960's for Viet Cong control of a rual area near saigon. In this area there are about 200KM of tunnels and you can go and visit them and see if you can fit down them! Well this was definately a good tour to do - we had a local guide bring us arunf the tunnels and showed us all the very crafty work that the vitenemese came up with. At one point we had the chance to go down into the tunnel and try to walk through them for 100m - O M GOD obvoiusly westerners have VERY differet builds from vietnamese people especially those form the 1960's!!

Hahaha the picture attached shows an entry point at which the tunnel could be accessed from the groud - it was well camoflagued -and me and Vicky thought we really should try getting in, for start i didn't my left leg would fit in never mind the whole of me and vic didn't think she'd get her boobs through that hole!!! Some skinny smart alec just jumped down into it - he didn't impress us much!! :) needs a bit more meat on him!

Anyways as you can wee we found a bigger entry port and decided we'd try it out. The only way i can describe how we moved down there (or the way we were ment to) was that you plodded along in the position that you would typically see a small toddler sitting ie - knees at chin bun toogroud postion - yeah?? :) anyways vicky was behind me and was going slow so she got on her knees and picked up soem speed!! thats the phots in the tunnels. I was feeling the adrenaline pumping and got to a point that i didn't hink i would fit so decided to get out when i could!! I really can't imagine how on earth men adn women stayed down there for days at a time - basically lived down there. You guys should google the tunnels - and see what we mean!!! Very very smart!!
