We are Sailing
Today we needed to get off Atola. This had to be done by 9.00 PM. Given the fact that we had done all our essentials the previous day, we made the deadline very easily. On the whole everybody had a very relaxing night, except Ray. As with the previous blogs he has been suffering badly, and last night was no exception, and to cap it all off he had a crook back as well. When Ray did get out of bed, he too had to go and have a good spew over the back of the boat. Like Jo he did a very good job of it. He is the type of person who does things properly when he sets his mind to it.
Pete and Roz, and Jo and Ray had booked an Air BNB in Split until they were to leave on Monday. This was fortunate as Ray really needed to recover, and rest would be the best thing for him. They were kind enough to offer to allow us to leave our luggage in their apartment until the ferry left for Ancona.
After a bit of organising we finally managed to catch a maxi cab to the apartment. We unpacked everything and Jo quickly got Ray to bed. By this stage, Dianne was also feeling unwell again, but as she had a hair appointment in the afternoon, so she was determined she would tough it out. Lets face it, you can be crook as a dog, but you certainly can't look like you are!
We all left Ray to it, and I am sure he would have been glad. We went down town to try and get something for Dianne to settle her stomach. I also needed some new sandals, as mine had blown out. After a while we all met for lunch at a pizza place on the Riva, and then after a light lunch Brian, Cheryl and I waited for Dianne to get her hair done. Brian decided to go over to the marina to look at the boats coming in. I stayed at the bar with Cheryl, and caught up on some sleep. After a short time we all met up and decided to make our way back to the apartment.
Once back at the apartment, Dianne died, finally everything had caught up, and she was not well.
However we could not let her rest for more than about an hour or so, as we had to check in on the ferry.
We finally pulled up stumps and made our way to the ferry terminal to validate our tickets, and get ready to board. As usual these people wouldn't know how to run a p*** up in a brewery, so checking in take about 10 times longer than it should.
We said goodbye to the A crew, except Ray, he was still crook. This is it, finito! Done finished. I can't believe how quickly time has passed, and now we are saying goodbye to our friends.
After approximately 3 hours we got to board the ferry like a flock of sheep with dysentery. We were grateful to get into our rooms, and for Dianne it was an opportunity to sleep.
We waved everybody goodbye, but I am not sure if they saw us. If not, the rest of Split would be wondering who those 2 dorks were on the top deck waving!
Brian, Cheryl and I had a quiet meal in the restaurant on the ferry. A very pleasant meal, and certainly worth it. We all retired early, as it has been a long day, and we needed to be up and alert when we reached Ancona in the morning.
Well for those people who don't know Brian and Dianne and Glenn and Cheryl this will be the end of your blogs. Pete and Roz, and Jo and Ray will be doing their own from now on, and I am sure you will enjoy following their exploits through Croatia.
In the meantime, we are off to Italy!. I haven't deleted you from the address book, so feel free to stay tuned in, or otherwise delete the email when it arrives.
I hope you have enjoyed our trip. I can assure you we have had a fantastic time.
See you Roz, Pete, Jo and Ray. We will catch up when we get back! Thanks for your company.
