With the wonders of modern travel, Virgin Airlines get us to Gatwick half an hour early at 5.20 am on 30th December, after the usual arrival formalities I manage to load all our suitcases and rucksacks onto a trolley and head through the arrivals scrummage and into the increasing cold in Gatwick Railway station to try and sort a change of ticket from our original February return to immediate ones. The cold is no good for Peters condition and 20 minutes queuing is a nightmare on one of the busiest days in the British travellers calendar. Eventually we head back via a reasonable change at Reading and we get to Newton Abbott station and a quick cab ride home.
I'd pre warned our neighbours who had been fantastic at filling our empty fridge and freezer with staples to get us through our first night back. There was a welcome party ready with keys, help with bag carrying and the heating being on full blast was the most wonderful feeling to behold, especially for Peter after 18 hours travelling in cool temperatures, not what he needed at all.
After a quick cuppa, one phone call to our local surgery gave us an immediate appointment with Peters G.P. which was utterly amazing in its speed and efficiency. So now we are in 'the system' and Peter is awaiting an Angiogram and consultation with a Cardiologist. What will happen next, who knows. But we will, no doubt keep you informed.
So I'm sorry but the planned 9 weeks blog is a sad 2 weeks only. I hope you enjoy what there is and ANY comments on here will be hugely and gratefully received. That way I know you have read it and that IF we are lucky enough to do anymore travel in the future, I will blog again.
Many thanks for listening, hopefully speak again soon.

Clare Much love to you both. I read your first entries but when I couldn't access the blog again this weekend I started to get a bit anxious - you have been much on my mind. Very relieved to hear you are safely home and hope everything will be OK. Like Maud - when you set off again - we shall be waiting to read all about it. Clare, Ian & family xx
