Ayutthaya
We really liked Ayutthaya from the start, it was so calm and relax place. Only not so funny thing happened when we arrived at the center of the city and walked to guest house. David was in front of me walking when I heard a huge crash and saw that David had knocked down with his bag a scooter on the street. It was a white scooter so of course it left a mark on it. The guy who owned the scooter shop came out and wasn't very happy. He wanted that we pay the damage we have done, but we said it wasn't our fault and he should use his insurance for that. In the end he started speaking Thai and David started insulting him in French! After the guy just asked us to leave, so we did!
We rented bicycles and did a tour of all the ruins and temples. The city is full of them. Ayutthaya was established in 1350 and was the capital of Siam, the Thai Kingdom.
After Ayutthaya, we went to Phitsanulok.
The city is quite small and not many tourist go there. We found a guest house, which was really good, with TV, hot water! And breakfast included. There isn't much to do in the city but the night market was very good; cheap clothes and cheap and good restaurants. We had also a thai massage, full body massage for one hour. It was the first time I had a massage and it felt so good!
After 2 nights in Phitsanulok, we took a bus to Chiang Mai.
