Part II.
Hello again!!
Hmmm, where did I leave off, ah, yes...so, Mum was refusing to pay what they wanted, and was saying that it was "non negotiable" which was an argument that lasted for about an hour, with either side refusing to budge, until mUm was like "right, Ive had enough of this!! The offer is not negotiable, so if you wanna call the manager, and in fact, the police, then go ahead, because Im off to the attorneys office down the street right now! You should be lucky that we are even paying at all with the service that we have recieved!!"
At this point, I did start to get concerned, I did not want to become a fugitive, on the run for the next year from the Peruvian authorities for refusing to pay a Hotel bill....but, luckily, before the situation became rather hairy, the manager said ok and accepted the offer.
Hahahaha.Making an offer for the fee of a Hotel Bill-now that is classic Mum for you, I gotta love it!!lol. (Even though I was at some points thinking, PLEASE, NO!!!!!!lol)
But, the principal was right! Why should you pay for a service that you never recieved??
Exactly, you shouldnt.
Anyway, we made a swift exit after that, although Mum ensured that she got a reciept for the bill, just in case of any potential funny business when leaving the country or whatever.lol. I had visions of being arrested at customs.....hehehe.
So, begrudgingly, we got onto the Bus of doom, back to Lima....20 hours of pure hell....only, it ended up taking a whole 24 hours, yes A WHOLE DARN DAY!!! as the blinkin bus decided to throw a wobbler at one point during the night, and at another point early in the morning, we had to stop for 3 hours as there was a conveniently placed car rally on our route....helpful. Just what you need when you are losing the will to live, and having hallucenations about hot water and soap.....hehehe.
Anyway, we finally arrived, and I tell you, there were some funky body odoured smelling peeps around that luggage reclaim stand. I cannot efficiently express how bad it smelt... just imagine though, 50-odd people, all been stuck on a bus for 24 hours without a single wash, or tooth brush used, at some points with the absense of air conditioning.....mmmmmm, smelly.
Anyway, I very nearly broke down and kissed the ground beneath my feet when we finally arrived at the bus station. I had suffered from intense altitude-related sickness when we were descending the mountains-(Cusco is 3000ft above sea level), but I thought, "better not" as I was actually too weak to get back up again if i fell to the floor (I hadnt eaten all the time I was on the bus) and that would have just been embarrassing.... (as if the state that I was in wasnt quite embarrassing enough!!!lol)
Anyway, Im off now, havent really got much else to tell at the moment, so I will speak to you all again soon, and hopefully, there w8ill be some photos here soon, too!!
Take care everybody!! Miss you all!!
Loadsa love!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
