Spent 5 nights on the Gold Coast with Mim, Brett and Byron the dog, he is the cutest little dog in the world. Was a lovely couple of days and brilliant to see MIM again- i cant believe it feels like i only saw her a few months ago, crazy. Mim took the Thurs and Fri off work so we got taken to all the 'hot spots' ! We visited Surfers Paradise, but i didn't rate it that much. You could be in any seaside resort when you are here, nothing special about it at all, but it does have the gold coasts nightlife. We did however spend lots of money on gifts for the family !!!!! We had lunch at a beach called Miami, and mim and i spent the evening catching up while Brett was out at football and Anna went out with Ben. Friday was mim's birthday and we planned to go to Sea World with a picnic but the weather wasn't very bright so we opted for shopping and a chick flick - confessions of a shopaholic. I was determined to have the picnic though ( as you know, well should do - i love picnics so i was all about the picnics, everywhere we went)so we were going to go home collect Byron and go to the lake but as we pulled up onto the drive there was the biggest black cloud so we couldn't go, so instead the Vixster decides that we were going tp sit in the garden under the cover and have the birthday picnic anyway! Funny - i went back in the house to get something ( probably pepper!) and as soon as i walked in the door, Byron was up on my chair in my spot! Cheeky so and so, if he wasn't so cute he would have been in big trouble with me. That evening we went into Surfers Paradise for a night out. Mim had birthday drinks at Q1 which is Surfers observation deck, its the highest residential building in the whole of the southern hemisphere apparently. Very impressive. and i got to meet Mims friends and catch up with Jade a friend of mims who was in london at the same time as mim and we hung out a lot - so that was brilliant. Once the bar closed the party goers of us went to Melbas ( A late night bar/club) we had lots of fun and danced all night long. Saturday didn't really consist of much, i think we woke up at 11ish and went to Burleigh Heads for a picnic with Byron - who was hilarious! he was chasing all the kids and playing ball...... such a funny little personality he has. Mim also introduced us to Cold Rock ice cream.......mmmmmmmmmmm where you can have any flavour ice cream or sorbet and mix in and chop up all kinds of sweets and chocolates........ i had boysenberry 9 which is our raspberry ripple) with malteasers and cookie dough, It was the nuts! Seriously you can have anything mixed in fudge, mint crisp, jelly babies, freddo frogs, you name it its there to be added. That evening we went to see the glow worms at Natural Bridge. It was really dark and eerie but the glow worms illuminate the the trees just like fairy lights, it was quite magical to see. Later that eve Mim, Anna and I went for another girly night out and met up with the clan from Byron Matt, Gemma,Ian, Steve etc - another top night. We went to watch Brett play rugby league on Sunday up in Brisbane which worked out really well because Mim dropped us off at my cousin Danielle's after, which was our next stop. The Burleigh Bears rule! They won 28 - 6 or something...... great first game of the season
The gold coast was wicked, beaches were gorgeous, it was just a shame the weather wasn't that great - but we didn't let that stop us having fun.
Thanks Mim and Brett for everything you did for us while we were with you. The bed, and foos and basic running around after us. Love ya loads.
