After another few days of driving and drinking - not together i might add! We have finally arrived in Mississippi! Yesterday was spent in Ocoee (Tennessee) where we had a day to raft or just chill out. I had a day of sunbathing and chilling out - getting cooped up in the van is not my idea of fun, but the groups really cool and we have a laugh. We got some fireworks and a pumpkin to carve at Ocoee because they celebrate Halloween for weeks and weeks. You should see the huge fireworks stores they have, seriously they are like shopping centres. Our pumpkin looked cool so check out the pictures.
Once we left Tennessee we drove to Mississippi for a stopover in Meridian for some fried chicken (and of course to camp!) Today we headed over to the Jack Daniels Distillery (which is free) to have a look at where all the JD in the world comes from! the Tennessee site is the only one in the world to produce, label and ship its Bourbon independantly. Its absolutely amazing - we couldnt buy any tho because its a sunday and local law restricts the sale of alcohol on a sunday but we got to smell it at its 140% proof stage - and thats enough to get you drunk! Lunch was again on a park bench - and sandwiches, guess im gonna have to get used to that but for now its not too bad. Anyways we're off to New Orleans tomorrow for a few days and we get a hotel which is fantastic! no more cold nights in a smelly tent and pathetic showers that drip rather than actually spray.
soooo looking forward to it!
